Wiki Loves Monuments Sicilia

The exhibition

Since 14 September, Isola has been hosting the Wiki Loves Monuments Sicilia exhibition, the Sicilian chapter of the photo contest organised every year by Wikimedia Italia volunteers to document and celebrate Italy’s cultural heritage.

Over past editions, the contest has involved 70 photographers in Sicily and gathered more than 3,400 photos. Through images entered in previous editions, the selection on show tells the story of the richness and variety of Sicily’s heritage.

The 2026 edition is dedicated to historic Sicilian villas and palazzi: places that hold the political, cultural and social memory of the region, and that also bear witness to how it has changed over time.

Come and see the exhibition at Isola, and let these photographs guide you through a heritage worth knowing, preserving and sharing.
